The Gift of Love for One Another

Jesus said: A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you also must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples if you love one another. — John 13:34-35 NIV / ASLV

We love you. We experience God’s love when we love another in the ways Jesus calls us to.
Our love for each other is a witness to the world. And we want everyone to see God’s love through us.

Deaf Angolan Christians consider fishing as an expression of their love for one another. They joined the work on a new sign language Bible translation project this year.

Recently, members of the translation team shared video drafts of Genesis 5 and 6 with local fishers. The team left with excitement as the community members asked the translators to return every Saturday to show them more Scriptures in their sign language – what an expression of God’s love.

Celebrate

Today, 49 sign language communities now have access to portions of Scripture by video, up from 39 last year. This Scripture is the fruit of much labor in God’s love for our Deaf neighbors.

Pray

  • For love to shine in our communication and collaboration as we serve with Deaf communities that are eager to receive Scripture
  • For our partners: Angola Sign Language Team, Wycliffe Bible Translators, and Deaf Harbor.
